The database gateway for smarter queries. Growing up, Jacek watched his father introduce SQL databases to enterprises, fascinated by how data transformed businesses. That early exposure shaped his curiosity, but as he built my career—working with cutting-edge technologies like NVIDIA CUDA in 2009, Facebook in 2011, and AWS cloud since 2012— he kept encountering the same fundamental challenge: data platforms, over time, become tangled in legacy, complexity, and inefficiency. Nowhere was this pain more obvious than in observability. Engineers needed rich data insights to troubleshoot outages under time pressure. Jacek experienced many incidents during his 10 years at Sumo Logic where he applied many tricks based on our dogfooding lessons. Unlike many of his peers, Jacek found himself drawn to the messy, unglamorous work of data migrations, untangling legacy systems, and bringing order to chaos. These projects, though often dreaded, had a massive impact—some saving millions per year. And yet, most data products were built for greenfield projects, leaving modernization efforts underserved. That's why Quesma was founded: to tackle the legacy and underbuilt side of the data ecosystem. Quesma started by shipping an interoperability layer to production, and now they're building query offerings on top of existing data platforms—helping companies make sense of their most critical asset: their data.
